| Update:Server-addresses: - www.kippehok.com:26000 - (Prophets) Minsta + Hook DM (Tourny settings + SVN Anti-lag) - (8 slots) - www.kippehok.com:27000 - (Prophets) Minsta + Hook 1 on 1 (Tourney settings + SVN Anti-lag) - (2 slots + 4 spec) Original post:Hy all Lost set up a training server with tournament-settings at his place, but it wasn't running all to well for me. So to make a long story short, I offered him a dedicated minstagib server on my rig. It's a dual xeon 2.4 with (currently) 1,5GB of memory on a 100mbit backbone (GN-IX) in the Netherlands. Lost asked me how long I'm able to host these servers. The answer is I honostly don't know. I don't know when the server will be out of resources (if it ever will), I don't know how stable nexuiz server is (I hate to see it make my server unstable) and I don't know how long the server itself stays running. It's an experimental/educational server for me and a friend of mine and there sure can come a moment when we pull the plug (It's an expensive hobby). Fact is we recently replaced the old one + we just purchased another 2GB of mem (Which will go in tonight or somewhere in the next few days.) In other words, it won't go down (permanently) anytime soon, only to add more memory I used the serverconfig from lost, but I still need to optimize some stuff. It's not running as smooth as I like it to run yet. Any netsetting recommendations?Anyways, if it ever goes down and doesn't come up again, just send me a PM. I hope it's playable and hope you guys have fun on it

| It shouldn't be slow, I've ran gameservers without problems on it before... What's your ping? I still think it needs some tweaking in the serversettings (which is not really my specialty, so if anyone has suggestions I'm glad to hear them). Fow now I've highered the rate from 20.000 to 100.000 (that's like infinite ) I've also changed the name and added a 2 slot server. So now there are two servers: Raven's: Minsta + Hook - (Prophets) League Training Server (8 slots) Raven's: Minsta + Hook - 1 on 1 League Training Server (2 slots)
I also added the non-standard league-maps chronic_nex, trans, farewell-laserfun and HandsOfGod_nex. If you want any settings changed just PM me.

| Thank you for this Raven, we've had some good fun on it already. Our clan members know the basic config, if any of us think of anything that can help we'll let you know. Thanks again, much appreciated. Tony. | |

| I changed sys-ticrate to 0.03125 instead of 0.05 It should improve pings and make things more smooth. It also increases bandwidth, which shouldn't be a problem on the short-term. I could put it even lower, but it doesn't seem to be recommended. I already turned sv_maxrate to 100.000 instead of 10.000 (and later 20.000), I now also turned rate to 100000. There doesn't seem to be more net-setting available, so let's hope this improves things Have fun! | |

| Ping aint the problem for most of the people that visit my server, it is the packet loss that causes problems. It must be your distance from my server or the route to it or a combination of both that gives you such a high ping. Server is in the netherlands btw.
Anyways, the problem of PL seems to be at my provider, I'd have to send them an email with some detailed information which I have yet to gather and make into a nice e-mail.

| I hope you get rid of these problems, it's a nice server and fast enough. Hope your provider can solve the problems | |

| My provider is replacing their routers soon. Coincidence? I dunno... Want to wait for that before I start complaining....
"Dear customer of CJ2 Hosting.
This weekend we will upgrade our router platform. We will start at Saturday night from 0:00u until 06:00u. Due to the redundant setup most customers will remain online. The switchover between different routers could induce some additional latency."

Well, that's the question My bet is they're replacing their current routers because they had complaints from other customers. We just have to see what happens over the weekend...

| Packet loss seems to be alot less since the routers are replaced and I also installed [TOT]Fish's tournament mod with SVN anti-lag. Seems to run like a charm now. Now all I need is to find out how i get a voting-menu on the end of the map. For now, give it a try and have fun | |

| It's been running nicely m8, good job. Options for voteable maps should look something like this: - Code:
-
set "g_maplist_shuffle" "1" set "g_maplist_votable" "8" set "g_maplist_votable_timeout" "16" set "g_maplist_votable_keeptwotime" "8" set "g_maplist_votable_suggestions" "2"
