| That's awesome. 2 years of post-production. PS. I think that's the NetRadiant video tutorial painless was looking for.

| Oh.. Its.. a bit special I rendered out the scene in Blender, using a short render time & low quality settings. Then I loaded it in GIMP and took some brushes (mostly soft ones) and just drawed a bit around and added some "objects". Perhaps you ask now: "And why doing a sketch if you already have it in blender? " A: For testing the "Feeling" of the Final Picture (and to kill the boredom) | |

| Thanks Tuts? Here you go: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro <- Thats really all what you need for the first months NOTE: Time consuming. Very Time consuming. Btw: Sorry for the grain, its just a Preview. I render the Final Picture roundabout 2 days on 3 computers connected with a LAN. Fun | |

| Thanks m8, that looks very comprehensive. I WILL certainly start working through that soon. One concern is the rendering performance. 2 days on 3 computers? I guess one of them is your quad too? Sounds like a good use for CUDA or something similar. You know if anything's being done in this area? Only Nexuiz gets VIP access to my gpu atm.. | |

| Well, the rendering performace is a point of many discussions... Im using a Physicall-unbiased renderer ( Lux) for the image above, and its slow out of its nature. Its calculationg every Ray emitted/reflected/absorbed by whatever. Blender has also a Built-in Renderengine what's quite fast (biased though). The Rendering-process in normal CG has nothing to do with the RealtimeRendering of Nexuiz (Just to ensure ). Yes my quad is rendering too in my little Renderfarm. CUDA? Sure. There is already a Renderer directly from Nvidia (forgot its name). But most Engines doesnt support GPU-rendering. GPU are mostly too unflexible and things like CUDA are too "new". But I think you wanted to know: Yes. Rendering should be fast enough. Simple (well optimized) Scene = 15 sec and good result .. or something | |
