| This is a thread where we can put all ideas, good or bad, into a big pot My ideas: - building a stairway like impulse and dont surround it with different rooms. Instead build a big circle around it, that's working like an assembly line and at fix points u get pushed into the mainroom with the stairway, that don't have 2 staircases, it has 4 and is symetric to both sides Sorry for my awful paintwork | |

| You said it, that paintwork is truly awful. You may be better off relying on telepathy. Your idea sounds fine, that picture tho... kinda looks like the base of a pepper grinder. Maybe I lack imagination tho. | |

| Hard to rebuild for me. And i don't have UT2k4 so i can't even watch the full level But the core of the idea, an tropic island scenario with palms and barracks is definatly possible. Nice input Thalan | |

| same here, tough one to make/rebuild. but it's not impossible. however I prefer small maps to play on as when there 2-4 ppl on it its still fast game not running around for 15 minutes to find some1. I still would like to have the place of two deaths from 1st quake in Nexuiz, also small and fun map to play on.so far Ive seen PinkRobot was making it, but dunno if he made it.maybe I will give a try to make it. yes Ur idea Thalan is nice EDIT: roarrr I found q1 maps on Alientrap, converted , need only retexturing woohoo I will have my q1dm1 for Nexuiz soon !!!! woohoo just need proper textures XD

| Ive fired it up and it's playable I know it's mostly the same texture everywhere, but does it make this map so bad? I think it makes it hmmm charming in some way those turrets can be destroyed (tho they respawn after a while) ^^ and what do U think about 5th element map revisited in ancient greek style ? heh even if some1 doesnt like that idea...I already started doing it | |

| Nope. It was a great map anyhoo, refreshing it with your new mapping skills would be enough & the ancient greek theme would certainly be a nice touch. We'll always say if there's something we don't like. | |

| ^^ kewl ok doing it now, it will look different, gonna be bigger than before and instead of rooms on every side there will be 4 small temples around one big temple ^^ damn I want to know how they make that reflecting water! would be a great addition anyway I will do my best | |

| A nice reflective water is 'textures/water/water2' - That's what I used on Tundramagi's Mandatum. Gonna be a busy day at work then? | |

| For more reflecting water: You should try to put a small brush into the wather with the glass_tube shader from "save_liquids". The glass reflected more as the wather only. But you have put it on the ground, becuase you cant pass the glass. If you can fnd the .shader and .tga file from glass_tube you can edit it so that you can walk through like water and you can put it on the surface from the water. Maybe a good effect ? Here is an example. | |

| Thanks M U are great mapper too M, Impulse is very sophisticated map I wouldnt do them if I couldnt manage some spare whiles for doing it at work. I bet if U could "waste" some more time on it U would make many more great maps m8 | |

| A little hint:
Maybe u can add some broken pillars or pieces of stone to the lvl? So that the map wont be too open to shoot from one end to the other | |
