monster lags on prophets :'(

hi mates,

I decided to post the problem public and not intern ....

Since a week or longer I.ve monster lags on prophets server
In certain cases during match the server stopps work and I see the clock in left upper corner 2-4 seconds ....

Yesterday I was playing with Chris (organic) and he had the same problem ...
Chris told me the probably reason for this problem .... (IPS stuff) .... but I don.t understand what he said (typical female ???)

My question is: Did anyone else have the same problem too

I've noticed it too. I tried changing a few server settings when I was on the other day but couldn't notice any difference with my wifi...

I've asked Iron[PK] if I can have a look at a known good 2.5.2 cfg in case I'm missing something since 2.4.2. But Chris may be right, it could be the ISP - I vaguely remember Raven having some issues when the servers were 1st set up until something was upgraded..

If it can be improved through configuration then we'll get there soon enough, I'll have another play tomorrow & hope to receive reply from Iron soon.

I've stripped out all the old 2.4 & TTS mod stuff & set connection related stuff to their defaults (shouldn't be needed but it's a little less demanding).

Also added the growlernex & Bommels' ButlerBot. You should have your VDO/master status's back too...

I still get loads of packet loss, tho others don't seem to get anywhere near as much. I hope the connection is a little more consistent, there's not much more I can try.

Iron got back to me & suggested using a different antilag setting. I've tried them all but couldn't feel a difference - for now it's off altogether & server framerate has been increased. You'll notice no difference in lags or aim but ground movement/tricks are a little smoother/easier (at least it's a tiny improvement ).

Unfortunately it hasn't solved the 'monster lags' that some of us experience. I very much doubt it's Ravens' server & I'm all out of configuration ideas. If you have any ideas, let me know & I'll see what I can do.

Yesterday i read that under windows exist a process who searches all two minutes for new w-lan's.
It should be bad for the gameplay, maybe on raven's server is started an similar process ?

So if you don't find a solution, we should have a look into the cabel's. Think that Su is the lowest, she should do it.

An antilag switch from 2 to 1 would be better I think!
It's just an idea, you could try to use antilag 1 instead of 2
I think it would be better then!

yep - same here - with antilag 2 the server is unplayable for me

I tried all antilag settings a while ago & found little to no difference.

I don't think our problems are either config or hardware related - it's most likely an ISP issue. Would be good to get some input from Raven but I guess he's just as busy as the rest of us admins atm (well, I'll be busy from tomorrow)...
