Ho ho ho
It's a great idea to study the social live from other people.
Here is the description about the Christmas time from Germany :
One month before it in every city starts a Christmas market, you can can eat Schmalzkuchenand (some deep-fried pastries) drink some hot wine punch and buy some special Christmas things mostly wooden eye candy, what runs up to the 24.
The kids have special X-Mas calenders, for every day till the 24 there is a little door, and behind it some chocolate.
On every Sunday four weeks before the big day, you can celebrate the Advent, you have to inflame a candle, every week one more.
On the 24, you set up the Christmas tree, and bedeck it with candles and glass balls.
In the afternoon, you have a great meal, (no, not hamburger:roll: want to taste them on 24 but don't think that i get this present
) it can be hot sausages with potato salad (no joke !), or mostly broiler.
After that you go to the church, and then follows the gift giving (btw. from the curly head Christ Child not from Santa Claus).
After all, i'm not religiously and don't believe in this stuff, but sometimes it is a great time when all people are in a good mood.
Hope that some people from other country's have the same boldness like me, i'm absolutely interested in other tradition.
Have some nice days, DH
