| Your driver sir! http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/Drivers/AVP/10792/0x0343D29A/XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gzI don't have any 1st hand experience with it tho. Your distribution may provide their own package for this & any decent distro should at least have some community support... Should go something like: - Code:
-
wget http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/Drivers/AVP/10792/0x0343D29A/XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gz tar -xf XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gz cd XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00 make su make install modprobe ctxfi You may want that modprobe line in rc.local or something...

| Sorry for doing you so much work. But Mandriva also kicked me after 3-5 restarts and told me couldn't load the Plasma-thing....is think it means the graphic -.- Kicked it and have a fresh win xp installation now. And i don't think Linux is good for me. When i see this: wget http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/Drivers/AVP/10792/0x0343D29A/XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gztar -xf XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gz cd XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00 make su make install modprobe ctxfi just for installing a damn driver for my soundcard the fun for me is over. On Windows i have sound and erveything else...hopefully i have enough time today to get nexuiz running again | |

| No worries mate. You've done the right thing for now. Sounds as though Mandriva wasn't exactly providing the smoothest transition... You were slightly unlucky with that driver tho, it's a very new release for Linux, you'd probably find it conveniently packaged in many distro's next year. In that case it'd be even easier than Windows. Anyhoo, get Nex back on, that's the most important part of any OS. | |

| ahmmm Growl? Your post reminded me fatally at this article (english version: here) Linux is not that kind of Operatingsystem as windows. It could be wonderful. But only if the users wants it. | |

| I moved 3 years ago from Windows to Linux Since this - I become a Linux-Addict. Than a friend showed me Nexuiz one year ago. Since this - I become a Nexiuz-Addict. I think Linux works fine for everything I'll do on my computer. Don't miss Windows anyway ..... maniac|Su | |

| Your config is under ~/.nexuiz/data/
If you want to change it graphically you'll need to 'view hidden files' in whatever file manager you're using. ~ == home btw.
Ubuntu is a nice distro, hope you continue to enjoy it.

| Thanks mate, my config is working fine =)
But some new problems now...it seems to be a never ending story
1) Nexuiz isn't downloading any new maps...every non-standard map appears black to me
2) No special keys are recognized...e.g. ö ä ü ^ ` etc
I think those are the problems i faced till now
Still looking for a better mouse driver, which gives me full control over my g5

| No worries m8.
Regards the map downloads, ensure you have curl installed. I don't know about Ubuntu but it's not part of a default Arch install.
I don't have fancy keys or mice so idk about those, I'd assume you'd need to have a look @ xorg.conf tho...
