| Hey ho! Using my "freetime" i start to fool around with GtkRadiant and I just did my first map Anyone ever did something with this program? I am very proud of my map...called "test", but u can make suggestions if u want. Maybe I can improve the perfect map design once more | |

| I wanted (and still want) to mess a bit with it, but I have one problem (the same as always) - lack of time. but when I'll be ill or something, will try that. Id like to make some maps from 1st quake (this is gonna be tough) and q3a. well, Id like to , but dunno If I can make it. for now, still dont have time to do this nice test map M Im sure Ur gonna do something great ^^ | |

| Nice start Marc. I always wanted to make a map, a replica of a room, miniman style. I never got as far as even downloading GtkRadiant tho. What's the program like to use? More intuitive than Blender I hope... Name suggestions? Rock3t - didn't want to say rocket cube, guess I just did tho. Once the tourney is out the way it'd be cool to have some custom maps on the server, Kringle's Telescope is a must. | |

| It's easer than Blender It's working good tho, a bit tricky with lots of key-combination and i didn't found a tutorial for version 1.5 but it's ok. Well...it is a rocket cube Good for nothing then an epic selfkill, but I have problems with imagine the sizes atm. Feels big in GtkRadiant and in Nex i had the smallest map ever On the good side: After 1 our i am able to create a fully playable minsta map, ugly but playable Try it | |

Not for me, I tried it some months ago and I failed terribly on using it But its definetely worth to play a bit around with it...maybe I'll try in the next vacations too... Till then you can ask me if you need models and stuff | |

| u are the blender pro For me it's not accessable, everything i could ver do in blender is ruining your work and not even that happened on purpose^^ Failed right now in doing fire, but no problem: Back to the stoneage, where the had a tree and a nexgun in there metal-caves | |

| Another usefull link fresh from the alientrap-community http://www.alientrap.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9U should test the links, i use the second one now for my poor tries. I try to make a nice Minsta map when i am able to. And the other gamemodes suck, so what else then minsta ? Sad that my abilities can't build the levels i imagined yet...but it wil be cool when i stick to it My first working jumpad + 2 pools, 1 water and 1 with slime where i died badly | |

| Just figured out how teleports work, here a new pic again. Hope it's interesting how i advance in mapping Anyone doing his own tries ? edit: I already have a good idea for a small minsta map, but first i need to learn how i make stairs and curves. | |

| Project stairs finished. thanks to god i know now how to use the clone-funtion. Group some stairs and press space and u get some clones and just bring them in position. Erm...i would do the texturing before u clone, else u have to texture every step | |

| Marc, you really are picking this up fast, your trials are already looking good. I think you'll have your 1st proper map in no time at this rate. I gave it a whirl @ work today, took me about 2 hours to make my 1st box. I have no idea about lighting, stairs, liquids, teleports & other interesting things tho. | |

| I followed this tutorial through the "basic section". It's for quake 3 and for gtkradiant 1.4 i guess, but it's the only tutorial i followed till now and with a bit of search in the gtkradiant it works nice | |
