This blender thing is frustrating for n00bs like me. I can't do anything other than drag the pelvis around...

Looks way better with textures
The yellor stripes, will those become the paintable areas of the model?
Nice leg-swing, doing Can-Can?

Just finished the walkcycle (well...more or less only Im finished - not the walkcycle) The other animations will follow slowly - As I said, Im more or less noobish in animating. Take a look at it in the Blend!
C & C welcome - and post more - Growls thread has already 3 sites!
Sidenote: I have a new keyboard - so dont wonder about the abnormal rate of typos. The yellow stripes are the area which are filled with color one, the rest will be filled with color 2.
Edit: What's Can-Can? Edit2: Press Alt+A to playback the animation.

Hey Brecht
looks like you did a step forward^^
Nice model with the nex in his hands
That's how it looks for me when i donwload the file. It's not doing an animation tho... Sry for the deformed body parts...somehow it happens
How comes i have no textures?

It seems that too long blender-sessions makes my brain muddy - So muddy that I forgot to tell you that you have to press ALT + A in the 3D View to playback the animation - have fun. You can also use your [right] and [left] arrow buttons on your keyboard to jump one frame for/backwards. The missing textures.. is a bit bigger problem. It seems theres a bug in the new version 2.48 which prevents me from packing them into the blend... I'll take a deeper look at that tomorrow. Edit: Theres a popup-menu on the right of the 3D-View header ..set it to "Solid" (the one in the middle) Or just pressing "D->OpenGL Solid" or "D->Shaded Solid" should also work.
and no Can Can currently... but its a good idea..imagine that with 15 droids in Nexuiz!

i made it solid now and it looks a lot better now
But with Alt+A nor with the cursor-buttons he is willing to move o_O I see a number running up, but nothing happens
Is it a user error as usual
Do i have to select a specific bodypart?

My head just moved with an average speed of 30 km/h in the direction of the nearest wall. (these are ~140 Joule pushing on my head if it has 4kg ) Why? Well, I just noticed that I gave you the wrong file.... so this playback cant work cause theres no action defined - ouch! I upload the right one tommorrow - dont have any time atm.. :/
SORRY!

hmm...youre not alone The file uploaded 2 days ago was has the same name as the current - but was saved at a totally different place.. *shame on me* But I uploaded the correct one now.... (I hope so ) So heres the next try:
It seems like that the texture packing thing works now....so you should see the textures now on the model
Playback the animation with Alt+A (it may happen that the 3D view changes to a blank window, thats the fault of a script which Im using here (what isnt packed), just press ESC and change the window back to a 3D Window (left down corner) and press again Alt+A..
Note: Theres also a Nex in his hands - the movement of the weapon is more or less nonsens - even dont take a closer look at it have fun..
p.s: I have VACATIONS now!
EDIT: YAY, PAGE 5! xD

Yoooo
That's great First it switched to a grey screen but then i saw it in it's full beauty. Pretty good animation, smooth and good to look at, i like how the whole body moves and the pelvis is going up.

An exploding droid would make a cool animated avatar.

Sorry that the last update is some time ago, but I messed up my droid. Well, I had to mess up it because exporting didnt work as expected.. and so I have to redo the "skeleton" and the animations

Shit happens, Im used to it
I think I take a little break from my droid, not long 2-3 weeks, cause Im a bit frustrated now -> no good work. I just packed out my old "palace garden"-project... as some sort of relaxing work...

Huh? A post in this thread? Im not dead yet? Ok I am but I decided to work again a bit at this place Basically is all whats missing the animations. But theres one problem (har har.. as usual): I have to export it to Nex and too look at it..and so on. Takes much time: Solution: I just made my own testing-enviroment. I check these anis simply by pressing a key. Heres a screenhot of it:
And heres the testing-program: (Im sorry, Linux/Mac OSX only [buy Win for me and I compile it there ] but should be executable with cygwin under Windows) blink-link
STARTING: *just execute the "starter.sh" script. Thats all. *alternative:
Code:
cd path/to/the/download && ./blenderplayer scenedata
Fly around with WASD and youre mouse.
If you wonder that there are no animations: Simple solution: There are no animations. I didnt re-do them yet. Just a static model in a room out of wood.
Code:
sudo have_fun -24h

Looks cool m8.
What are the dep's? I noticed it needs openal & freealut & accompanying sym-links. Didn't delve much deeper, I'm not one for installing stuff this way.
