| Did you build it differently? The lighting looked better on the original. Maybe that causes the performance hit for some people tho. | |

| I used "final+ambient occlusion" build option. and what option did U use m8? I remember U built that version which is on server, and yeah it looks better than this one I posted. and I fired it up for a while yesterday, ehhh not good, again missing part of the crypt (same as before) and one wall of the small buildings with dome on it. didnt notice lower fps tho. ehh damn if I could check in game what I do right after doing it... anyway, which build option did U use T? the one U've built looks better | |

| Yo m8. I used the 2.5 default build option & scaled the lightmaps down afterwards to reduce package size. The only thing I changed in your map was the position of a few lights that protruded through the floor slightly (causing that entity error). Performance is fine for me after moving those lights. Maybe the people with issues have the original & not what's on the server, how does it perform for you? A couple of things I would suggest to further improve performance would be to caulk what's not seen (only texturing what's visible) & ensuring there's no overlaps. That'd be a tedious task now the map is done tho. PS. u got wheelz now? | |

- Rav, I had that problem with a 32bit build for my laptop, had no trouble with 64bit tho. Looks like I'm a bit outa date now, running rev. 193.
Yeah, i'm a bit disappointed. Maybe the ATI driver is the problem... Tips: caulk entities is very important to improve performance. My computer lag with your map... but i think there are a more and more good mappers here! I've some ideas but i've not the time for mapping :/ help me ! :p | |

| I'll take a look in radiant @ the one U built, and check that lights, I admit I didnt do that before, still radiant displays the message that light is leaked. and that overlaps @ toilet are giving me da creeps, but I'll try to get over it rest is caulked and retextured.will do that today at work ^^] and then hopefully mausoleum will be done. started doing another map, but gotta finish what Ive started previously. | |

| I've heard the music before, dunno where or when & certainly not the name. It's missing some textures m8, whatever you used for the walls. Otherwise a rly nice use of those textures, this is gonna look better than the original. 1 thing I should've thought of before, maybe it could do with upscaling a little more? Just enough so that it *seems* possible to jump across the bridge but not actually (make use of the lava). Also be careful to only texture the facing surfaces, I notice there's a floor grate that is seen from below. @ DH. Could you upload to a better host? Something like omploader or what Banshee used. | |

| Yo Banshee, just checked the map... Hmm missing textures for me ERROR: could not load texture "textures/quake1/wbrick1_5" The map is already in our map repository... You can give the pk3 to lost if you have done the textures, he has an ftp-account for uploading I will be back from holidays on 21st of may, then I can assist in uploading again. Well nice idea to do this map!!! I remember many hours with q1!!! | |

| N1 Kuba. Ignore my comment about the floor grid, I see it's like that in Q1 too. I'd like to put this on our server ASAP, I do have a few minor suggestions tho: 1. Scale the map up just enough so that you can't jump over the lava. 2. Use a different texture for the floor. 3. Scale the wall textures down a little for a sharper look. Very minor & simple edits that should help make this great map popular in Nex. PS. I've finished tweaking Q1 & just started playing today... Currently on Gloom Keep - awesome map, may start the conversion, certainly gonna do one of them. | |
