Feo, HQ & HD options are offered when the resoloution meets or exceeds certain limits. All I know for sure is: if you upload in 720p (1280x720x24) you'll get the 'watch in HD' option. 480p seems to qualify for 'high quality' tho I'm not sure of the limit...

I think my recording tools are horrible.

Fraps only records in avi and it loses huge quality as avi when going through youtube.

I capture videos with the ingame command
cl_capturevideo 1 creatin a raw-video with a file size up to 10 gig

then i compress it with virtual dub to a size of below 100

works well, even in fullscreen u can read the names of the players

& that handbrake app you recommended should be able to make nicely compressed mp4's from the raw avi.

Or try my script in Linux.

I can't get that to play mp4 sound ;P however I can get video from it.

Mp4's are picky with codecs, you trying x264 & faac yeah?

Anyhoo, what growl said will record everything you do from there on. So just issue 'playdemo /demos/mydemo.dem' & quit or "cl_capturevideo 0" afterwards.

Real-time recording in Nexuiz is pants, it certainly wont improve the quality of your vids. Feel free to try it tho, 'cl_capturevideo_realtime 1'

PS. it's so pants it doesn't seem to work...
